Excel Uploads Now Understand Multi-Sheet Workbooks

Real spreadsheets are rarely a single table. There is a cover sheet in front, a chart tab at the back, one sheet per region — and until now our Excel upload only ever looked at the first two sheets of your workbook. If your data lived anywhere else, you had to split the file up before you could upload it. Not any more.

📑 Every worksheet, not just the first one

When you upload an Excel file, we now look at every worksheet in it and find the ones that actually contain data. A title page, an empty tab, a leftover chart sheet — we simply walk past them and go straight to your table, wherever it happens to be.

🖱️ Pick the sheet you mean

If your workbook holds more than one table, you no longer have to guess what we picked. A new Worksheet selector appears right above the column selection, listing every sheet with data and how many rows it has — "Customers DE (240 rows)", "Customers US (86 rows)". Choose one and the column dropdowns, the sample values and the row count update immediately. Your file stays where it is; nothing needs to be re-uploaded.

🍏 Numbers exports work again

Apple Numbers puts a boilerplate page in front of every workbook it exports ("This document was exported from Numbers…"), with your actual table on the sheet behind it. Those files now land on the right sheet automatically — as do exports from reporting tools that lead with a title page.

👀 What we leave alone

Sheets you deliberately hid stay hidden: they are not offered in the selector. And a worksheet that holds nothing but a heading is never preselected, so you always start on a real table.

📥 Your workbook comes back whole

The Excel file you download is your original workbook with the new columns added to the sheet you chose. Every other worksheet, your formatting, your dates, your formulas and your second and third tables come back exactly as you sent them — we only append, we never rebuild.

🧭 Good to know

• One worksheet is enriched per upload. If you need two tables genderized, upload the file twice and pick a different sheet each time.
• Your column titles need to be in the first row of the sheet — that is the row we read the column names from.
• Everything else is unchanged: the same credits, the same accuracy, the same CSV and Excel downloads.
